The Aeris Theme still brings me to tears.
(Please note I wrote this about a year ago and am now 20 but my feelings about this post are still the same)
I’ve been alive for 19 years, and for those 19 years I’ve experienced many things. I’ve dealt with happiness, fun, pain, love, hate, lost, and finally sadness. Everybody has music that brings…an emotional reaction from them. But I must say beyond a doubt the song that is the most emotional to me, is Aeris’ Theme (or Death Theme) in Final Fantasy VII.

I first experienced FFVII when I was 7 years old, it was my first RPG experience and still one of my most beloved games even though I pick on it alot for its ‘emo’ main hero. But I still love it greatly and I am saying this with tears in my eyes right now after listening to it, the Aeris Theme is the saddest song I’ve heard. I’m not a musician nor am I a music geek but when I hear a certain song it just brings some kind of deep emotion from me. Some calm me, some can fire me up, some may anger me, but this is the only song that can really move me so deeply. Make me feel or think about the loved one’s I’ve lost or any other sad memory, big or small. The one part that really truly kills me though is the very end(3:45 on that embedded video), when all you hear is the one instrument playing the break down. Its as if you had someone close to you in your arms and that last bit represents them finally passing away never to be seen or heard from again.
Sorry for posting such a sad blog (especially for my first), but I felt I needed to get all of this out when I had the emotions inside of me. I’m glad to have gotten this out of my system and to share this for you all and I’d love to hear your stories about your saddest songs or if you share my opinion.
